both和either的区别

　　both表示“两者都……”为肯定意义，常常与and和of连用;either表示“两者中随便哪一个(都……)”，介于两者之间，从二者中任选一个。常常与or连用.

　　1、both“两者都”;为肯定意义。常常与and和of连用，构成both...and...和both of结构。作主语时谓语动词用复数。

　　Eg:

　　①.Both Lily and Lucy are good students.

　　丽丽和露西都是好学生。

　　②.Both of them are good students.

　　他们两个都是好学生。

　　2、Either“两者中的任一个”;介于两者之间，从二者中任选一个。常常与or连用，有临近原则，作主语时谓语动词取决于离其近的主语。

　　Eg:

　　①. Either Lily or I am right.

　　要么丽丽要么我是对的。

　　②. -- Would you like coffee or tea?

　　你想要咖啡还是茶?

　　-- Either is OK.

　　哪个都可以。
