both的用法

　　both可以和名词、代词连用，也可以和动词连用，在句中作主语、宾语及同位语，也可作定语。both与名词、代词连用是both+of+the/物主代词/指示代词+名词，both直接修饰名词时，不加of，在人称代词前一定要用both of。

　　both用作形容词时，只用作定语，用作代词时可作主语、宾语和同位语，作副词时主要和and连用构成关联连词。

　　both是说两者都怎么样，是指两者的，也可作定语，常放于系动词、助动词和情态动词之后，实义动词之前。常用短语both…and…意为……与……两个都。both作主语时，谓语动词应用复数形式，在这个用法中，both常与介词of连用，构成both of+…结构。

　　both用作形容词时，作两个，俩解，只用作定语，是前位限定词，常与复数名词连用。both用作形容词与定冠词、指示代词、形容词性物主代词、名词所有格等限定词连用时，应置于其前，而不能置于其后。在both之后接名词时用不用定冠词均可。both用作形容词时不用于比较等级。
